Iranian fighters successfully destroy mobile targets in drill

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian strategic bombers of Sukhoi Su-24 and Phantom jets annihilated fixed and mobile targets both in air and ground in the second day of main phase of an aerial drill held in Persian Gulf.
"In the second day of the main phase of the drill, the strategic bombers of Sukhoi Su-24 and Phantom jets destroyed fixed and mobile objectives both in air and ground successfully," said Spokesman of 'Fadaian-e Harim-e Velayat 2' drill Hossein Chitforoush.

The bombers carrying all types of optimized missiles and were prepared for test launch by Iranian experts annihilated ground and floating targets across the sea in southern Iran, he added.

The latest military achievements of the Islamic Republic of Irans Air Force (IRIAF) have undergone operational tests during the exercises.

The drill features long-range operations by fighter jets without aerial refueling as well as pinpoint targeting using bombs and rockets in air-to-surface and air-to-air operations.

The military exercise also involves air-to-air shooting, targeting flying objects and air-to-surface bombardments using different types of home-made missiles and bombs.

In recent years, Iran has made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and systems.

The Islamic Republic has conducted several military drills to enhance the defense capabilities of its armed forces and to test modern military tactics and equipment.

Iran says its military might poses no threat to other countries, stating that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
