Israeli soldier kills Palestinian in West Bank

Israeli forces have killed a Palestinian man in the occupied West Bank, a day after killing another and injuring several more during a military operation.
The Israeli army said its soldiers shot dead the Palestinian man, identified as Saleh Yasin, during a military operation in the city of Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank on Thursday.

The Israeli military claimed that he had shot at Israeli forces on several occasions.

Palestinian sources also said that Yasin, 29 years old, was ambushed by the Israeli forces when he was on his way home.

Israeli regime forces launch incursions into the West Bank on an almost daily basis, regularly attacking Palestinians houses in the occupied Palestinian territories and arresting activists and civilians mostly without any charges.

On Wednesday, the Israeli soldiers shot dead one Palestinian, identified as Qassem al-Saadi, and injured several others during a military operation in the Palestinian city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

According to Palestinian rights groups, over a dozen Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the first half of 2013. Israeli troops also seized nearly 1,800 Palestinians, including women and children, during the same period.
