Iran nuclear sites continue to work powerfully, Salehi

Qom, Dec 19, IRNA Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran?s nuclear facilities including Arak heavy water reactor will continue to work with full power.

He made the remarks in a meeting with the senior cleric Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani in this holy city on Thursday.


Salehi referred to the Geneva deal between Iran and G5+1 as a fruitful agreement the implementation of which will preserve Tehran?s nuclear rights.

About the agreement, he said it is based on Iran?s absolute right to peaceful nuclear technology.

He noted that Iran?s nuclear program is pursued under the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

The AEOI head further stressed the fatwa by the Supreme Leader?s which forbiddens production and use of nuclear weapons.

Salehi said Iran is a powerful country seeking interaction with the world.

Salehi travelled to Qom Wednesday to make pilgrimage and hold talks with senior clerics there.
