MP: US to lose its friends by anti-Iran sanctions

Tehran, Dec 14, IRNA Head of Parliaments Research Center Kazem Jalali said the US paradoxical behaviors towards Iran will result in loosing its friends especially the European ones.

Talking to IRNA on Saturday, he said the contradictory behavior of the Americans will not harm Iran but rather damage its ties with the European countries.

The White House has added a number of firms and individuals to the list of sanctions for their alleged cooperation with Tehran through bypassing sanctions.

The US government claimed the firms and the individuals have negated the existing sanctions, thus giving Washington the permission to add them to the list of sanctions.

Jalali reiterated that by doing so, the US is virtually tarnishing the slight consensus existing between Washington and its western allies.

Pointing out that avoiding new sanctions was included in the Geneva agreement between Iran and the 5+1, he said the Europeans embarked on imposing sanctions on more Iranian companies immediately after signing the deal.

The claim that the decision to impose sanctions on the firms and individuals was made prior to the Geneva agreement is hollow and senseless, he said.

The parliamentarian noted that this kind of behavior will further persuade the international public opinion as well as the Iranian nation to condemn the US approach.
