VP stresses governments resolve to facilitate non-oil exports

TEHRAN (Tasnim) The government is determined to remove the obstacles and problems faced by exporters of the country and the issue is on the priority list of the cabinet, said the first vice president on Wednesday.
Under the prevailing conditions, giving a fresh impetus to to the economic environment of the country requires public determination; the government and economic activists can join hands to tackle the economic problems, Eshaq Jahangirisaid in a meeting with the countrys top exporters and export organizations.


He also referred to the diplomatic initiatives of the government at the international levels aimed at facilitating the countrys economic relations, saying reduced tensions with the outside world and more stable exchange rates could give a boost to the country's exports in the future.

"In the curent year the government has adopted policies and measures to restore stability to the market, and to ensure the economic activists, it has done its best to reduce fluctuations and volatility to a minimum," Jahangiri added.

Iran exported over $24 billion of non-oil commodities in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21) despite the US-engineered sanctions against the country it was announced on December 2.

According to the latest data released by the Iranian Customs Administration, Iran exported $24.605 billion of non-oil goods, including gas condensates, during the eight-month period.

Iran also imported $28.247 billion worth of goods weighing 18.925 million tons in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year.
