Iran warns pilgrims against illegal entry into Iraq


Baghdad, Dec 10, IRNA - Iran?s Ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Danaeifar warned the Iranian pilgrims against illegal entry into Iraq during the Arbaeen rituals which marks anniversary of 40th day of martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS).
Talking to IRNA, Danaeifar underlined that the punishment for such an illegal entry is three to six years imprisonment.


He stressed that the Iranian government has allocated special facilities to Iranian pilgrims to enter Iraq during the Arbaeen rituals.

He said the Iraqi officials issue visa for Iranian pilgrims at Tehran, Mashhad and Shiraz airports as well as Mehran, Shalamcheh and Chazabeh border points.

At present some 110 Iranians are behind the bars in Iraq as a result of illegal entry into the country.
