Iran in tough group, Carlos Queiroz says

TEHRAN, Dec. 8 (MNA) – Carlos Queiroz said that Iran has not been drawn in an easy group in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Iran has been grouped with Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Nigeria in Group F.

“The people who say Iran has been drawn in an easy group have no sense of responsibility. Iran has played nine matches in three World Cups in which has won only one game, lost six matches and drew two,” Carlos Queiroz told Fars news agency.

“The results show the reality of Iran football. To be honest, we have a difficult task in the competitions. The Iranians cannot be proud of their results in the previous editions,” former Manchester United assistant added.

“There’s still a long way to go. The Iranian football officials must make the best decisions before the World Cup to prepare their teams for the competitions not after that,” Queiroz concluded.
