Al-Qaeda militants occupy headquarters, arsenal of free Syrian army

TEHRAN (FNA)- Clashes are continuing between Al-Qaeda-linked militants and supporters of the so-called Free Syrian Army in Syria's North.

Although both groups are opposed to the incumbent president Bashar al-Assad, they are also fighting between each other for spheres of influence, Voice of Russia reported.

According to reports, on Saturday, Extremists occupied the headquarters and an arsenal of the Free Syrian Army at a place called Bab al-Hawa at the border with Turkey.

After five people from both sides were killed in the shooting, the surviving members of the Free Syrian Army run away.

One day before this incident, the so-called "provisional government" of the National Coalition of opposition groups in Syria claimed that there are no contradictions between the Free Syrian Army and Islamist groups in Syria.
