Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the sinister link between the drug trafficking and terrorism and extremism in different parts of the world threatens global stability, security and peace.
He made the remark here Wednesday in a meeting with the new representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Leik Boonwaat.

Pointing to the long record of good cooperation between Iran and the UN agency, Zarif voiced Irans all-out readiness to continue collaboration between the two sides.

He believed fighting and uprooting the evil phenomenon which is threatening security of the whole globe needs close cooperation among all world countries.

Pointing out that the Iranian people and government are spearheading anti-drugs campaign in the world, he said the efforts are aimed at promoting global peace and security.

The UN official appreciated Irans efforts and measures in fighting drugs and thanked Tehran for its close cooperation with the UN body.
