ILNA: More than 280 workers at the South Pars gas complex in Iran gathered for a second time at the office of the companys directors on Dec. 2 to protest at the reduction and non-payment of salaries.Earlier on November 24, in the city of Asaluyeh, about 70 workers protested at the reduction in salaries and broken promises made by the managing director.
ILNA quoted a representative of the workers as saying some 600 workers have faced a sharp reduction in their salaries due to changes in their employment contracts.
The South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) was established in 1998, to operate development phases 1 to 10, 15 and 16, 17 and 18 and 20 and 21 of the South Pars Gas Field, as a subsidiary company of National Iranian Gas Company. Presently, it operates 10 phases in five refineries.
