Workers at Iranian South Pars complex protest at salary reduction
ILNA: More than 280 workers at the South Pars gas complex in Iran gathered for a second time at the office of the companys directors on Dec. 2 to protest at the reduction and non-payment of salaries.


Earlier on November 24, in the city of Asaluyeh, about 70 workers protested at the reduction in salaries and broken promises made by the managing director.

ILNA quoted a representative of the workers as saying some 600 workers have faced a sharp reduction in their salaries due to changes in their employment contracts.

The South Pars Gas Complex (SPGC) was established in 1998, to operate development phases 1 to 10, 15 and 16, 17 and 18 and 20 and 21 of the South Pars Gas Field, as a subsidiary company of National Iranian Gas Company. Presently, it operates 10 phases in five refineries.
