Tehran, Dec 3, IRNA � A lawmaker said here Tuesday that Iran-Iraq ties cannot be limited to political cooperation, stressing the two nations are enjoying strategic relations.
Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, Rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign policy Commission, made the remarks while talking to IRNA.


The MP reiterated that Tehran and Baghdad have close cultural, social and economic cooperation.

He said certain regional states and foreign powers are trying to damage Iran-Iraq relations.

He further referred to upcoming visit to Tehran of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Wednesday, saying the visit will help remove obstacles in the way of expansion of bilateral cooperation.
