Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Sunday that good-neighboring policy is a priority of Iran in cooperation with its neighbors and regional countries.
Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman in Muscat.
The Iranian minister arrived in Oman’s capital on Sunday from Kuwait.
He also held a separate meeting with his Omani counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.
In his meeting with Sultan Qaboos, the Iranian minister conveyed the warmest greetings of President Hassan Rouhani and stressed that Tehran attaches great importance to relations with Muscat.
Referring to bilateral cooperation, Zarif voiced Iranˈs readiness for further promotion of bilateral relations in political, economic and cultural fields.
Meanwhile, the Sultan of Oman said Muscat is proud of its ties with Tehran and called for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
In his meeting with Yusuf bin Alawi, the two foreign ministers discussed avenues to bolster Iran-Oman relations.
The two also exchanged views on major regional developments including the situation in Syria, Bahrain and Palestine.
They stressed the need for more cooperation among regional states to solve the existing problems.
