Beverages enriched by nanotechnology products

TEHRAN, Dec. 2 (MNA) Researchers in the University of Tehran have developed a method for enriching beverages by nanotechnology products in cooperation with a Belgian university.
Mehr News reported that the enrichment method had wide applications in beverage and medical suspensions. Many of ultra high specific beneficial compounds such as carotenoids, vitamins soluble in fat, and many of phenol compounds are lipophilic.

The hydrophobic nature of such compounds makes addition of them to foods and beverages free of lipid especially different types of transparent beverages almost impossible.

Researchers in the University of Tehran in cooperation with Gent University of Belgium had carried out an investigation to the issue.

In their research, 4 bioactive compounds including Corkomine, Vitamin D, Acid Folic, and Beta-carotene were encapsulated layer by layer adsorption interactions.

The research usedBeta-lactoglobulin(BLG)inherent transport properties in transferring nutritionals to create green delivery system in nanometric dimensions.

This system allows enrichment of transparent beverages with hydrophobic compounds without need to emulsifiers. The findings of this study have wide applications in beverage and medical solution production industries.
