Irans Parviz to compete at Indonesian Filmfest

Iranian screen creationParvizhas been selected to contend for awards at the eighth Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) in Indonesia.
Directed by Majid Barzegar, the film is scheduled to be presented at the Asia selected films competition section.

Barzegars second feature length,Parvizwill compete with the movies from the countries such as Thailand, India, Seri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Philippines.

Centered on family relationships, the film depicts the story of a man at his fifties, Parviz, who has spent life in his fathers home and has never had a job. His quiet routine suddenly comes apart when his father decides to remarry and tells him to move out.

The movie is also slated to contend for awards at the international competition section of the 18th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in India that will take place from December 6 through 13.

Parviztook part in several international festivals such as the 10th Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Armenia.

The film also competed at the New Directors section of the 2012 San Sebastian international film festival in Spain.

The movie was also presented at the 2012 edition of Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Greece.

Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival is an Asian film festival in Indonesia focusing on the development of Asian cinema.

This years edition of the festival kicked off on November 29 and will run until December 7.
