The 32nd edition of Iran’s Fajr International Theater Festival has selected 14 plays from among numerous entries submitted by international troupes from different countries.
The selected works will be staged by the ensembles from Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Bulgaria.
The festival is also to host the performances by the troupes from Iraq, India, Tunisia and South Korea, said the festival’s secretary Esmail Alizadeh.
Several Iranian ensembles are also scheduled to compete at the international section of the event.
The 2014 festival’s participated works have been required to focus on the promotion of intercultural ‘Tolerance and Respect’.
This year’s jury members of the various categories have not been announced yet.
Some 106 performances from Iran and other countries were presented at last year’s edition of the festival.
Iran holds the international Fajr film, theater, music and visual arts festivals every year to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
The 32nd Iran’s Fajr International Theater Festival is scheduled to take place from January 16 to February 1, 2014.
