Trade Minister to represent Iran in SCO meeting

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadehis due to participate in the 12th meeting of the prime ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Uzbekistan.


Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited the Iranian minister to participate in the event which starts on Friday.

The Kazakh, Chinese, Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek and Tajik prime ministers and secretary-general of the SCO, head of executive committee of Regional Anti-Terrorism Institute of SCO, the Afghan vice-president, Mongolian vice-president, advisor to Pakistans premier, representatives from UNs Asian-Pacific Economic and Social Commission, Association of South-East Asian Nations as well as Commonwealth of Independent States are among the officials invited by the Uzbek Foreign Ministry to the event.

Topics for discussion during the two-day summit include review of agreement signed by member states to create better conditions for the international road transport, report by the SCO secretary-general about the executive trend of multilateral economic and commercial cooperation among the member states.

SCO is an international intergovernmental organization founded in Shanghai by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on June 15, 2001.

Iran, India, Mongolia and Pakistan are the observer nations to the organization.
