TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian army units on Wednesday carried out military operations against militants' gatherings, killing dozens of militants and injuring many others in several areas around the country.


Army eliminates militants in Homs, releases kidnapped citizens

A military source told SANA that all members of armed militant groups were killed and injured to the Southeast of al-Zawiyeh Mosque in Bab Hud neighborhood and in al-Karabis neighborhood in the city of Homs.

The militants' tools were destroyed. The source added that an army unit foiled an attack by two armed militant groups on the Water Unit and the National Hospital in Tal-Dao village, killing all their members.

Another army unit clashed with militants who tried to attack the citizens in Kafer Laha village, killing most of them. The source said that a unit of the armed forces inflicted heavy losses upon militants in Sheikh Ibrahim al-Hakim and Khalij Kisin areas who were smuggling ammunition from al-Rastan to al-Hula.

In Homs, an army unit recovered two trucks loaded with vegetables and food that had been seized by militants and released the two drivers and their two escorts in Hajjar area on Homs-Palmyra road.

An official source said that an army unit eliminated an armed militant group in Rahhoum village in the Eastern part of Homs countryside. On the other hand, militants fired four mortar shells on residential buildings in al-Ensha'at neighborhood, only material damage reported.

Army unit eliminates terrorist groups in Daraa

An army unit targeted a militants' hideout in al-Arbaeen neighborhood, to the South of Jordan Street and to the Southeast of al-Jamarek in Daraa city, killing many militants and injuring the others, according to a military source.
