TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian lawmaker condemned the supports extended to extremism by certain countries, cautioning that the Zionist regime of Israel is the sole beneficiary of such supports in the region.

Speaking at a meeting with a group of the central committee members of Iran-Palestine Friendship Society in Tehran on Tuesday, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi criticized some regional countries for supporting extremist and terrorist groups in the region and warned that such measures only benefit Israel.

Late in October, Iran's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri laid emphasis on the negative impacts of extremist thoughts for the entire Muslim world, and called for Muslims' vigilance against such deviations.

Addressing the heads of Islamic countries chambers of commerce held on the sidelines of the 14th International Trade Fair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Tehran, Jahangiri underlined that the extremist groups should not be allowed to take advantage of differences of opinion to fuel the flames of discord between Muslims.

He voiced Irans readiness to help resolve problems facing the Islamic Ummah, specially in the sensitive and strategic region of the Middle-East.
