EC Chairman Admires Leaders full support for Iranian N. negotiators

TEHRAN (FNA)- Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council (EC) Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei's support for the Iranian negotiating team helped the diplomatic triumph in Geneva.

Rafsanjani appreciated good performance of the Iranian negotiating team in talks with the world powers in Geneva.

The former Iranian president added that the strong support made by the Supreme Leader helped the negotiating team to express themselves freely in Geneva talks leading to a breakthrough.

On Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei appreciated the Iranian team of negotiators for their successful diplomacy in their talks with the world powers in Geneva, and called for the country's officials to continue resistance against the greediness of the western states.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the statements in response to President Hassan Rouhani, who had in an earlier letter felicitated the Leader on the successful performance of the Iranian team of negotiators in the recent talks with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) in Geneva.

Achieving what you have written is worth appreciation and praise to the nuclear negotiating team and other relevant officials and can be the basis for future smart moves, the Leader wrote in his response letter to President Rouhani on Sunday.

He said that the victory was achieved by Gods assistance and the Iranian peoples support, expressing the hope that the same trend would continue in future.

God willing, resistance against greediness (of the other sides) should always remain as an indicator showing that the officials in this sector are moving on a correct path, and (I believe) it will be so, he stressed.

On Sunday, President Rouhani in a letter to Ayatollah Khamenei felicitated him and the Iranian nation on the success of the country's negotiating team in the Geneva talks with the six world powers.

Iran and the G5+1 reached an agreement in Geneva on Sunday after days of intensive negotiations.
