TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and Turkey said they are resolved to further develop their ties in all domains, specially in various economic fields.In a meeting between Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadehand Turkish Minister of Planning and Programming Judat Yilmaz at the end of the 29th ministerial meeting of Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul on Thursday, Nematzadeh said that Iran is resolved to expand its trade ties with Turkey.
The Iranian minister said that the meeting between Iranian and Turkish presidents during the 68th UN General Assembly session in New York had an important role in developing mutual cooperation between the two nations.
In the meeting, Yilmaz called Iran as a very important country in the region, adding that Iran and Turkey are two significant regional actors.
He continued that the two countries have 150 million population and national incomes of the two states are high, so if economic ties increase the whole region will benefit from it.
He added that the figure of $30bln has been aimed for increasing economic ties between the two countries.
Nematzadeh attend ministerial meeting of the COMCEC which started work in Istanbul, Turkey, on Monday.
Iran took part in the expert and ministerial meetings. The ministerial meeting was chaired by Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
The expert meeting preceded the COMCEC ministerial meeting held on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on mechanisms for attraction of foreign investment by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) states, preparing the ground for producing sector by structural reform in the Muslim states as well as diversification in methods of producing and growth, the Islamic republic news agency reported.
The COMCEC is working as the arm of the OIC to reduce export of raw materials and agricultural products so that the member states prefer to export them as industrial or processing output.
