Iran negotiator stresses enrichment right

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi reiterated that the country would press ahead with uranium enrichment, as calling talks underway between Iran and the G5+1 in Geneva 'promising'.
"Enrichment is one of most difficult, important and sensitive parts of negotiations and what is obvious is that we will not enter into an agreement which does not include enrichment from the beginning to the end. Enrichment should be included in all of the steps," he told reporters in Geneva.

He added, "Disagreements and interpretations about the NPT is not so useful for the time being. Enrichment should continue in practice and be respected in written."

The Iranian senior nuclear negotiator further continued that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton are holding talks on Thursday without presence of representatives of the six powers.

Enrichment is not negotiable, but the details including site, level and degree of enrichment can be discussed between the two sides, Araqchi said.
