Future decries Iran embassy bombing
BEIRUT: The Future Movement, a staunch opponent of Hezbollah, paid their condolences Thursday at the Iranian embassy for the killing of the missions cultural advisor and several guards in Tuesdays twin suicide bombings.
We came here today to offer our condolences on behalf of Future Movement leader Saad Hariri, head of the Future parliamentary bloc Fouad Siniora and Future MPs, MP Ammar Hourisaid at the Iranian embassy in Bir Hasan, south of Beirut.

Houri condemned Tuesdays twin blasts outside the Iranian embassy, calling it a terrorist attack.

We should rise above the wounds and differences and stand in solidarity [with the Iranians] during these critical circumstances, he said.

Two suicide bombers attacked the Iranian embassy Tuesday, killing at least 25 people and wounding 150 others.

Among the dead were the embassys cultural advisor Ibrahim Ansari and several guards.

Politicians flocked to the embassy for the second day Thursday to offer condolences.

President Michel Sleiman, ministers from the caretaker government of Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Marada Movement leader Suleiman Franjieh and a delegation representing Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt were among the officials offering condolences.

Iran is an ally and a supporter of the resistance, Franjieh told reporters at the embassy.

The embassy bombing is a message to the entire resistance axis, he said.

Syrian Ambassador Ali Abdel-Karim Ali, the EU Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst and Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Walid Salman were also present to pay condolences to embassy officials.

Iranian Ambassador Ghazanfar Roknabadi reiterated that Israel is the main beneficiary of these terrorist crimes.
