Pakistan wants to further strengthen ties with Iran: Minister

Islamabad, Nov 19, IRNA Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has said his country wants to further strengthen its ties with Iran.
The Pakistani minister made the comment in talks with the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs, Ebrahim Rahimpour in Islamabad on Tuesday.

in the meeting the two sides discussed bilateral relations with particular reference to the situation in the region, an official statement said.

The Pakistani Interior Minister Nasis Ali Khan said that Pakistan enjoys good brotherly relations with Iran and wants to further strengthen the relations based on mutual respect and understanding.

He assured that Pakistan would go an extra mile in strengthening the economic, social and cultural relations with Iran.

Being the neighboring countries the close cooperation between Pakistan and Iran is also extremely important for the regional peace and security and particularly for establishment of lasting peace in Afghanistan, the Federal Minister stated.

The Iranian Deputy Minister said that the both countries are having new governments in their offices which present a great chance to further strengthen the economic, social and cultural relations and take these relations to new horizons.

Both dignitaries also discussed issues like terrorism and drug trafficking and agreed to settle all these issue by mutual consultation at its earliest.

The Iranian Deputy Minister Rahimpur, for his part proposed a trilateral summit of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan in this regard.

He also gave cordial invitation to the Federal Minister to visit Iran to his earliest convenient possibility.
