Iran calls for strengthening of cooperation among Muslim nations

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh underlined that if the Muslim nations utilize their full economic capacities in a proper way and expand their cooperation to this end, they would play a more effective role in global economy.


Addressing the opening session of the 29th ministerial meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) held in Turkey on Wednesday, Nematzadeh said Islamic states should demonstrate their economic potentials through bilateral cooperation.

The meeting, which started work in Istanbul on Monday, has focused on mechanisms for attraction of foreign investment by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) states, preparing the ground for producing sector by structural reform in the Muslim states as well as diversification in methods of producing and growth.

The COMCEC is working as the arm of the OIC to reduce export of raw materials and agricultural products so that the member states prefer to export them as industrial or processing output.
