Tehran, Nov 18, IRNA � UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Iran, enjoying ancient civilization and young generation, can play a key role in promotion of science and technology across the globe.
The UN chief made the remarks in a message to a day-long conference on science, peace and development held here at Sharif University of Technology.


The message was read out by the UN Resident Coordinator in Iran Gary Lewis.

Science and technology can play a leading role in global development and establishment of peace around the world, the message noted.

The conference on science, peace and development is held on the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development.
