Dushanbe, Nov 15, IRNA Minister of Energy and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, in a meeting with a delegation from Irans Electric Company, called for Irans cooperation in producing Hydro-electric energy.According to the report of Irans embassy in Bishkek on Friday, the Kyrgyz minister, in a meeting with Iranian delegation from Tavanir Company, called for Iranian investment in Kyrgyzstan energy sector.
Artykbaev, in a meeting with Haeri, managing director of the Tavanir, said that Irans progress and abilities in the field of energy and power plant technology and Kyrgyzstan? rich water resources necessitate special cooperation between the two countries.
Referring to Kyrgyzstan growing economy and its growing need to energy, Artykbaev said that there is ground to use existing capacities of his country for cooperation with Iran.
Haeri, for his part, expounded on Irans capacities in the field of production, transfer and distribution of electricity and stressed that historical and cultural commonalities between the two countries has prepared a favourable ground for development of cooperation in different fields, including energy sector.
The Iranian delegation, who is in Bishkek to consider grounds for mutual cooperation in the fields of energy, have met and discussed issues of mutual interest with Kyrgyzstan National Electricity Network and Electricity Power Plant Company officials and visited a number of installations in the field of energy in the country.
The Iranian delegation also met with Kyrgyzstan Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Rostam Asanbaev and discussed mutual issues with him.
