TEHRAN (FNA)- Russia welcomed the decision of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces to participate in the Geneva 2 conference.

"Moscow firmly supported and supports the soonest possible cessation of violence and bloodshed in Syria and the transition to a peaceful political settlement," the Foreign Ministry Information and Press Department said on Tuesday, Interfax reported.

Moscow also hopes that the coalition will fulfill the decision agreed in Istanbul, and will not set prior conditions of its participation in the Geneva 2, the statement said.
