Tehran, Nov 11, IRNA – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Monday received the Iranian female athlete who has gained the first title in the 12th World Wushu Championships in Kuala Lumpur.
“You portrayed the personality and identity of an Iranian Muslim woman and your successful presence indicated that the Muslim women wearing Hijab can have powerful presence in various sport fields,” the Supreme Leader said.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also described the presence of young Iranian athletes in international sport fields as valuable.
World Wushu Champion Maryam Hashemi also presented his gold medal to Ayatollah Khamenei during the meeting.
The 12th World Wushu Championships were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from October 28 to November 6, 2013.
