TEHRAN, Nov. 10 (MNA) Iran will use stored natural gas in order to secure exports of gas to Turkey, Irans Natural Gas Storage Companys Managing Director Masoud Samivand said on Saturday.
Iran will extract 10 million cubic meters of gas per day from its Sarajeh gas storage facility during winter in order to stabilize gas exports to its northwestern neighbor, Samivand added.
Iran plans to stabilize gas exports to Turkey as Turkey has filed a complaint against Iran about unfavorable situation of importing Iranian gas, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Turkeys complaint is about uncertain condition of gas imports from Iran as well as high price of Iranian gas, Mehr quoted Iranian deputy oil minister Hamidreza Araqi as saying on Friday.

The international court will issue its verdict by the next 3-4 months. Iran will be fully committed to the final verdict, he noted.

Under an agreement between Tehran and Ankara, the Islamic Republic should export up to 30 million cubic meters of gas daily to its northwestern neighbor.

In 1996, Iran and Turkey signed a 25 year agreement to supply 10 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey annually.

In October, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that Turkey is importing 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas a year from Iran but would buy more if it were available.

The country will also take at least the same 5 million tons (100,000 barrel per day) of Iranian crude in 2014 that it is taking this year, as any more cuts in the volumes from Iran would threaten its economy, Yildiz said.

Now we are importing about 5 million tons and if we [reduce beyond] that, then that would threaten our energy supply security, he added, hurriyetdailynews reported.
