Ashton: Progress has been made, talks continue

Geneva, Nov 10, IRNA European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton underlined that after three days of constructive talks, some progress has been made, but there are still differences.

She made the remarks in a joint press conference with Irans senior nuclear negotiator at the end of this round of talks.

Ashton said that long and intensive talks were done between the two sides during the past three days.

She said,?I and Dr. Zarif, accompanied by Iranian negotiating team and Group 5+1 team will be here again on November 20, 2013.?

Ashton continued, ?I appreciate presence of foreign ministers who joined us as well as the UN who hosted the talks.?

?As Mr. Zarif said, we had hard talks during these days and our goal is to reach a result and we return to this place to access the result.?

On a question about France stance in this round of talks and if Paris had different stances from other members of G 5+1, Ashton stressed that France plays an important role in the group and today, like past talks, played an important role with its other colleagues.
