TEHRAN, Nov. 8 (MNA) Three Iranian will go on screen in various sections of the Sydney Intercultural Film Festival, which will be running from November 13 to 24.From Tehran to Heaven directed by Abolfazl Saffari will be shown in the competition section and I Am a Mother by Fereidun Jeirani and Hush! Girls Dont Scream by Puran Derakhshandeh will be screened in the Special Invitation, a non-competition section of the event.
From Tehran to Heaven is about Ghazal, who returns from a sonogram to find her husband Farhad missing and her apartment ransacked. Kidnapped and beaten, she is threatened with further violence to find Farhad, who apparently stole some potentially incriminating documents from the biochemical lab where he worked, writes Variety on its website about the film.
The film was previously screened in the Montreal World Film Festival in summer.
Mahnaz Afshar, Alireza Khamseh, Mehran Ahmadi, and Jafar Vali are the main members the cast of the film.
The Sydney Intercultural Film Festival showcases films about multiculturalism, films that celebrate the diversity of culture, whether through topics or through filmmakers.
