Lebanon leader: US, regional countries suffer from hostility with Iran

Beirut, Nov 6, IRNA -- Vice-President of Supreme Islamic Shia Council of Lebanon Sheikh Abd al-Amir Qablan said on Wednesday that continued hostility with Iran is detrimental to the US and the countries in the region.

The Lebanese religious leader made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi.


Iranian cultural attach Ebrahim Ansari was also present in the meeting where both sides reviewed the latest developments in Lebanon and the entire region.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is a big country in the region and it will be to the expediency of the US to adopt a positive interaction with the country, Sheikh Abd al-Amir Qablan said.

Praising Irans active diplomacy at regional and international level, he said that Iranian diplomacy is based on rational approach.

On trend of nuclear talks between Iran and Group 5+1, Roknabadi said Iran has proven its firm determination to resolve the dispute and is now waiting for practical measures from the other side.

On the current humanitarian catastrophe in Syria, he said that Syria is to resolve its dispute through political means and that the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that settlement of the Syrian crisis will leave positive impact on Lebanon.
