Zarif travels to Paris for UNESCO confab

Irans Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has left Tehran for France to attend the 37th Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Zarif left Irans capital, Tehran, on Tuesday for Paris to participate in the General Conference of UNESCO, where he is slated to deliver a speech as a special guest.

Irans foreign minister has been invited to the conference by UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova to attend the Leaders Forum, which will be discussing the long-term strategic policies of the UN agency for the upcoming years.

The 37th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO will open in Paris on November 5, and will conclude its work on November 20. The session brings together the representatives of all UNESCO member states every two years at the organizations headquarters in Paris.

The Iranian foreign minister will meet with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on the sidelines of the event to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

After wrapping up his visit to Paris, Zarif will head to Geneva, Switzerland, where the next round of the negotiations between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain - plus Germany will be held on November 7-8.
