Pakistani PM to visit Afghanistan in weeks
Islamabad, Oct 30, IRNA Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, will visit Afghanistan in weeks for talks on his countrys role in peace process in the neighbouring country, official sources said.

Dates for the visit will be finalized through diplomatic channels, the sources said a day after Prime Minister accepted invitation by Afghan President Hamid Karzai at a trilateral summit in London.


British Prime Minister David Cameron hosted the summit, second in nine months.

The Prime Minister also agreed to allow a delegation of the Afghan peace council to meet senior Taliban leader, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Afghan officials say.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif agreed to a demand by President Hamid Karzai for direct access to the Taliban leader at the trilateral summit, Karzais Palace said in Kabul on Wednesday.

The three leaders agreed that a delegation of the High Peace Council will soon visit Pakistan and will meet Mullah Baradar, a statement from the Afghan Presidential Palace said.

The meeting also decided that senior officials of the Interior Ministries of Pakistan and Afghanistan will meet to discuss measures to curb illegal movement along the joint border and to eliminate hideouts of terrorists.
