11th TELLSI Intl. Conference opens in Mashhad
Mashhad, Khorassan Razavi Prov., Oct 30, IRNA -- The 11th TELLSI International Conference opened in Mashhad, Khorassan Razavi Province, on Wednesday.

Renowned professors, students and university instructors are attending the three-day meeting, which will end on November 1.


Secretary of the Conference, Khalil Motalebzadeh told IRNA that 600 university instructors, students and researchers dealing with English literature and language are present in the meeting. 35 of the guests are from the US and the UK, he added.

He went on to say that 1,100 articles had been sent to the secretariat of the meeting, of which 245 have been chosen for presentation in the form of speech and 40 in the form of poster.

The university instructor said the plenary speakers of the meeting are Jeremy Harmer from the UK, Suresh Canagarajah from the US, Dr. Hossein Farhady and Dr. Ramin Akbari, while the featured speakers are Seyyedeh Susan Marandi, Golam Reza Kiany, Mohammad Reza Hashemi, Mojgan Rashtchi, Reza Ghafar Samar, and Seyyed Ayatollah Razmjoo.

The major theme of the 11th TELLSI International Conference is Professional Development in Language Teacher Education (PDLTE).

The purpose of 11th TELLSI International Conference is to bring Iranian EFL/ESL teachers and researchers together and provide an opportunity for academicians and professionals from all over Iran to share their experiences and research findings.

This unique opportunity can highlight ELT challenges and encourage teachers to bring innovations to their classrooms.

An additional goal of the conference is to issue a collection of scientific articles by researches with cross-disciplinary interests related to the conference theme.
