Iran wants UNSC to react to Saravan terrorist event

New York, Oct 29, IRNA -- In a letter to the chairman of the United Nations Security Council, Irans ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations urged this international body to immediately show reaction to the terrorist event in Saravan.

On Friday evening, terrorists killed 14 border guards and injured 6 more in the border city of Saravan.

Mohammad Khazaei reminded in the letter that a terrorist group called Jaish-ol- Adl had accepted responsibility for the attack, adding that signs indicated that the terrorist act on Friday October 25, 2013 happened by infiltration from the eastern border of Iran.

Khazaei reminded that the UN Security Council reaction to the terrorist act will have a strong message for the group and its supporters that such acts would not be tolerated in any time and place by any group.

He concluded that Iran intends to take all necessary steps to punish the terrorist group and expects cooperation of international community and neighbors.
