Zarif to visit South Africa, Turkey

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif plans to visit Turkey and South Africa in coming days.
"The Foreign Minister is expected to visit South Africa and then Turkey by middle of this week," said Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said.

He said Zarif plans to take part in Iran-South Africa supreme joint commission meeting during his trip to Africa and discuss the further expansion of Iran-Africa relations.

Zarif will be accompanied by private and trade delegations during the visit, and he is expected to meet with South African President Jacob Zuma as well.

The Iranian Foreign Minister is scheduled to discuss Geneva II meeting and Tehran-Ankara relationship for the expansion of peace across the region in his trip to Turkey.

"There are 55 countries in Africa and Zarif's trip to Africa is a good measure. We will witness expansion of ties in this important continent," Abdollahian added.
