Tehran, Oct 28, IRNA The founder and first president of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Dr Akbar Etemad disclosed new Russian formula for nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA, following his meeting with some Russian officials last week, he said that Moscow is after a formula for talks which could convince Tehran and satisfy the 5+1 members.

He explained that he attended a seminar in Moscow upon an invitation of Russia where he accidentally met Russias representative to the Iran-5+1 talks, Sergei Ryabkov.

He said his interpretation of the talks was that Russia is after a formula through which it could exert political pressures on Iran and convince Tehran that Moscow is defending its interests and at the same time make the 5+1 happy with the idea that Russia has not approached Tehran.

Etemad said Russia is now discussing and lobbying the scheme.

In fact, Russia is after a sort of relatively rational ties and interactions with Iran within the framework of which it could exert pressures on Iran any time it chooses. This, I never doubt about, he added.

He went on to hail Irans new approach regarding foreign policy issues and said this logical manner should continue in long-term.

He said Iran is now experiencing a new phase of very excellent but hard and harsh policies which he described as the phase of hope and stressed that only elapse of time will expose the results of prudence.

He stressed that interactions with the US should go beyond the nuclear issue because then it would end in resolve of the nuclear problem.

He said the US President Barack Obama has to open up doors to talks with Iran.
