TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Hassan Rokni said the country is the 8th largest honey producer of the world.
"1.6 million tons of honey is produced across the world. Iran is ranked 8th in this ranking after China, Argentina, Turkey, Ukraine, the US, Mexico and Russia. India and Ethiopia come after Iran, standing 9th and 10th in the ranking," he told ISNA.
Iran produces one fourths of honey of the world, with each Iranian uses 894 grams of the product annually while the average global per capita consumption is 225 grams, he added.
