TEHRAN (ISNA)- The commander of Iran's border guards Hossein Zolfagharisaid some regional and cross-regional states have been involved in the recent terrorist attack in southeastern Iran which claimed the lives of several guard forces.
"We have intelligence that two countries are financially supporting terrorists in the region and at least three regional and cross-regional states are providing the countries with intelligence," he said.

"As we had already announced, we have intelligence showing that the future process of move against the country's security is logistically provided by hostile groups," he added.

Zolfaghari further added Iran holds evidence that the terrorists are being backed technically and by equipment, "We have received reports on the way of their training."

On Sunday, Zolfaqari confirmed the death of 14 Iranian border guards in the clashes, but said no one has been abducted by the terrorist group.

Some media reports had claimed earlier today that several border guards had also been abducted by the terrorists before they fled into Pakistan.

No border guard has been abducted in this incident, General Zolfaqari told FNA.

Eight brave border guards have been martyred in clashes with the outlaws early this morning, General Zolfaqari said, adding, Six other border guards were also wounded and died of injuries.

There has yet been no information about any casualty on the side of the outlaws.

An armed group named Jeish Al-Adl has claimed responsibility for the attack.
