TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers have managed to produce protein from fish ponds waste to reduce use of concentrated mercury through intensive production of carp which minimizes water consumption in breeding system.
There are a great amount of offal including nitrogen, phosphor, uneaten food and intestinal flora of fish in these ponds waste which leads to change in ecosystems of rivers and lakes, contamination and algal bloom if released in natural ecosystems.
The technique used for the first time in the world in producing carp productions, which is valuable freshwater fish. It reduces 50 percent of fish's food concentrate in intensive rearing ponds and reduces water consumption by one percent.
