 Iranian cartoonist shines in Serbia contest
Belgrade, Oct 21, IRNA - Iranian cartoonist Masoud Shojaee Tabatabaee was selected as the winner of the top award at the 17th Salon of Antiwar Cartoon in Kragujevac, Serbia on Monday.
Speaking to IRNA, Tabatabaee said he won the Grand Prix The Peace Messanger and 1.500 euros at the event.

The Grand Prix The Peace Messanger and 1.500 euros is awarded by the International Association of Peace Messanger Cities.

Expressing satisfaction over his victory, Tabatabaee said his cartoon showed a soldier who opened a door towards war where there is nothing but darkness and annihilation.

He stressed that he tried to convey an anti-war and peace message by his cartoon.

Meanwhile, according to Miodrag Stojilovic, Director of the Salon of Antiwar Cartoon in Kragujevac, Tabatabaees work won the Grand Prix as it showed there is nothing in wars but death and darkness.

He added that some 533 works by 235 cartoonists from 43 countries competed at the event this year.

Iran has participated in the contest with 48 cartoons, he added.
