Japan foreign minister due to visit Iran in November

Japans Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida is scheduled to pay a visit to Tehran in November for talks regarding the Western dispute with Iran over the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program.
Japans state-run Kyodo news agency reported earlier in October that Kishida would hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and other Iranian authorities during the visit to Iran.

The Japanese foreign minister will also discuss Tehran-Tokyo cooperation on environment protection and the campaign against drug trafficking.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the 68th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 26.

The two explored avenues for the promotion of relations between Iran and Japan in diverse areas, particularly in the fields of economy and culture, and exchanged viewpoints on major regional and international developments.

Iran and six world powers are currently holding negotiations over the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program in Geneva, Switzerland.
