Iranian under-19 football players have beaten Saudi Arabia to advance to the 2014 AFC U-19 Championship scheduled to be held in October in Myanmar.
Irans U-19 team blanked Saudi Arabia 1-0 in its last Group D match at Bahonar stadium in the southeastern province of Kerman on Sunday.
Midfielder Saeed Aqai Nojedeh scored the hosts solo at the 38th minute so that Iran can end its campaign with three consecutive victories.
In their previous encounters, the Iranians overpowered Lebanon 6-1 on Tuesday, and beat Tajikistan 2-0 on October 8.
Iran and the winners of the eight other groups will join the next years AFC U-19 Championship finals along with host Myanmar and the six best runners-up of the preliminary round.
Matches of Group D kicked off in Kerman on October 8, and wrapped up on October 12.
