ICRC praises Iran’s help in Syria

Beirut, Oct 12, IRNA – Red Cross representative in Syria, in a meeting with Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, praised Iran’s Red Crescent Society cooperation with ICRC.

Head of Representative office of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) in Syria accompanied by his counterpart in Lebanon met with Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi here on Saturday.
In the meeting, the two ICRC representatives expressed hope for reduction of military conflicts in Syria so that the ground is prepared for cooperation in relief activities and underlined that all sides in Syria should reach a political solution.
Roknabadi, for his part, said that the first logical and practical step toward settling crisis in Syria is imminent halting of financial and military support of foreign countries to armed terrorist groups in Syria.
Participants in the meeting underlined necessity of maintaining stability and security in Lebanon and collective effort to stop spreading Syrian crisis consequences to Lebanon.
