Bushehr nuclear power plant generates 400,000 MWh of electricity

Bushehr, Oct 13, IRNA - Bushehr Nuclear Power plant has generated 400,000 MWh of electricity since it was handed over to the Iranian experts on September 24, it was reported on Sunday.
Over 92 percent of the electricity generated by the power plant has already been fed into the nationwide grid, said
Head of Irans first nuclear power plant Hossein Derakhshandeh addressing a local gathering in this southern provincial capital city Saturday evening.

According to the official, the nuclear power plant was handed over to the Iranian contractor for industrial use on September 24, 2013.

He said it has been ceaselessly operating since then with a capacity of one thousand megawatts per hour.

Derakhshandeh noted that the power plant has managed to meet the national and international standards during its operation period.

During the temporary operation, the power plant is to have a record of two-year performance which will be under the guarantee of the Russian contractor.

The power plant will be fully controlled by the Iranian contractor at the end of its temporary operation.

Two weeks prior to its inauguration, necessary tests were carried out in the power all proved positive.
