Iranian carmaker to export 10 thousand cars to Russia annually
TEHRAN (FNA)- Abdolazim Sadian, the deputy CEO for export and international affairs of Iran-Khodro Company (IKCO) announced that based on mutual agreements, IKCO is going to dispatch 10 thousand cars to Russia per annum.

Referring to the importance of the Russian market, Sadian said, "Ten thousand cars a year would be the starting point for IKCO's presence in the Russian market and the company would gradually increase the figure".

The deputy CEO said that IKCO has managed to get Russian Euro IV Standard certificate for all Samand cars like Samand LX, Samand SE, Soren ELX. These Samands enjoy TU5 engines under the hood.

"People in the CIS countries have a good background of Samand that eases the presence of IKCO cars in this region," he said.

Experts believe that IKCO and Samand had experienced a successful presence in the Russian market. Samand has served as police cars in some Russian cities. According to the very same experts, and regarding the fact that the Russian market is familiar with Iranian Samand and knows it for its good quality, IKCO's new products would be warmly welcomed by the Russians.

IKCO used to export its cars in CKD forms to Belarus. Later, assembled cars were dispatched to Russia. Getting the Russian Euro IV standard enables IKCO to export its cars to Russia directly.
