TEHRAN, Oct. 9 (MNA) – A Swiss official has said that Iran’s efforts meant to help resolve the Syrian crisis through dialogue should be supported.
Yves Rossier, the state secretary of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran on Tuesday, in which the two officials exchanged views about the latest developments in the Middle East region.
For his part, Amir-Abdollahian said since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Islamic Republic has called for an end to violence and arms shipment into Syria.
The two officials also expressed concern over the spread of extremism and terrorist activities in the crisis-hit Arab country and highlighted the need for increased international cooperation to promote security in the Middle East region.
