Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani issued a decree on Saturday appointing Sorena Sattari as vice-president for science and technology affairs.
In his decree, the president expressed hope that the new vice-president would be successful in serving the nation and the Islamic System in line with the principles of respecting the law, moderation and ethical charter of “the government of prudence and hope”.
Sattari has a PhD in mechanical engineering from Sharif University of Technology and is a currently professor at the same university.
Sattari replaces Nasrin Soltankhah who undertook the post in 2009 under former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
