Tehran, Oct 5, IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani issued a decree on Saturday appointing Sorena Sattari as vice-president for science and technology affairs.
In his decree, the president expressed hope that the new vice-president would be successful in serving the nation and the Islamic System in line with the principles of respecting the law, moderation and ethical charter of �the government of prudence and hope�.

Sattari has a PhD in mechanical engineering from Sharif University of Technology and is a currently professor at the same university.
Sattari replaces Nasrin Soltankhah who undertook the post in 2009 under former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
