Report: Syria death toll at 115,000

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Over 115,000 Syrians have been killed since the start of the crisis in the country two and a half year ago, a humanitarian group monitoring the region announced.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that more than 41,000 civilians, including 6,000 children and 4,000 women, have been killed during the two-and-a-half-year conflict.

About 41,000 fighters loyal to the government have died, and rebel fighters make up about 23,000 of the dead, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

With 5,000 deaths in September alone, international attempts to eliminate Syrias chemical weapons since last month havent slowed the bloodshed.
